There has been a course at Carnalea for over 100 years. Indeed Carnalea became Ireland’s first municipal golf club in 1927. Its beautiful seaside setting has superb views over Belfast Lough and the Antrim hills beyond. Long on history and challenges, this 18 hole course, divided into two nines by the Bangor to Belfast rail line, covers an area of approximately 88 acres.

The club has no joining fee and a unique social calendar, Carnalea Golf Club extends a welcome to members and visitors alike.  Playing and house members can enjoy the facilities of the club house, restaurant and 15% discount on their Bar account.

A family orientated club, Carnalea offers many children’s events during the summer, Halloween and Christmas periods, and with our own personal Wedding experience. Both the men and the lady sections at Carnalea have an active programme of golfing and social events throughout the year. New members will be formally welcomed by members of both the men and ladies committee and teamed up with a “buddy” who will be able to provide information and support. Group events on the course for new members will be encouraged.
